While we are quickly approaching spring break and planning for the strong finish for this school year, plans for the fall are already well underway. As part of our commitment to a strong school and family partnership, we reached out last week with two options, seeking input regarding the academic calendar for the 22-23 school year.
Votes were close, with 54% of voters selecting the first option, featuring an August 23, 2022 start date. In consideration of your feedback, as well as much discussion around the highlights of each calendar, we have decided to select the first calendar option, with a student start date of August 23, 2022.
We are excited to present the Distinctive Schools Chicago academic calendar for the 2022-23 school year!
Highlights of The Calendar:
School starts Tuesday, August 23, 2022 and ends Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
We will take breaks throughout the year, including one week at Thanksgiving, two weeks for winter break and one week for spring break.
Monday, August 22 will be a family engagement day across our campuses.
Two full non attendance days for students to attend family conferences, one in November and one in February, as part of our commitment to a strong family-school partnership.
